Dahlias Artist Statement:

Each dahlia is a distinctive creation with their own twists, bends and textures, exclusive to themselves.  They exhibit a personality differentiating each one.  

As a photographer, I anthropomorphise each dahlia, attributing human tendencies to each flower form, and capturing their beauty in a single frame.  Some take on the form of a mother cradling a child or the attributes of romance.

As the director of the scene, I use a light table as my stage and lighting variations to create the theme.  As the photographer, I take the ordinary and transform it to real life, through shadows and light.
